*NEW* CAS/Hanwei 'Tinker Pearce Production Swords!

Terms Available
This applies only to swords so marked on the 'Items for Sale page.'
Because I am making a higher percentage of more expensive pieces these days I have decided to offer terms for some of the more expensive swords to make them more 'affordable' for my customers.  On specified pieces customers will  be allowed to place the sword on 'layaway' by making an initial down payment and then making monthly payments.  The minimum down payment is not less than 20% of the price and payments would need to be a minimum of $200 per month for a period of up to 12 months.
During the period in which the sword is in layaway the sword will be maintained in 'new' condition.  The sword might be displayed but would not be used except under special circumstances.  Liability for the sword's condition will rest with me under 'display only' circumstances.  If a customer requested that the sword be used at a 'cutting party' to test it and report on the results, customer would assume liability for any damage to the sword in these activeties(whether they are present or not,) but I will make a good faith effort to remove evidence of normal 'wear and tear' and maintain the sword in new condition.
A contract listing the specific terms will be issued on completion of the negotiation for terms and will include the serial number and description of the sword, reciept of the 'down payment' and a schedule of the remaining payments.  This contract will be emailed (or faxed within the continental United States if the user requests.)  A copy of this contract will be retained in my files.

As an example- a sword is marked $1600 Dollars.  If the customer paid a $400 down payment the balance due would be $1200.  The customer could then negotiate to make 6 payments of $200 per month, three payments of $400 per month etc.

FAQ

Why a $200 minimum payment?
To keep things simple.  If you send me $50 I'll take Linda out to dinner.  If you send $200 I'll pay a bill or buy supplies.  I like taking Linda out to dinner but I need to pay the bills!

When does the first payment need to be made?
The first payment needs to be made within 72 hours or the item will be returned to 'For Sale' status.

Is 12 months the Maximum Duration?
Yes.  I just don't  want to drag the process out too long.

What if I have to miss a payment?
Let me know as much in advance as possible- I'm flexible as long as I know what's going on.

What if I can't complete the contract?
No hard feelings as long as you have kept the lines of communication open- the balance that you have paid can be applied at a future time within one year of the date of default to another  like product- IOW if the initial layaway was for a sword the credit could be applied to a sword, a dirk for a dirk etc.
